Today I'm going to show you a list of free music players (audio players) for windows. And this list is in a specific order: Best to Worst.

I love music, what about you? Since you are reading this, I assume you also love music. We say music is powerful, not because it has the ability to destroy or something, just because it is deeply connected to us. Look around you, music is everywhere, even your heartbeat is music. I should stop talking now because soon I will start rambling and trust me you don't want that :). So, let's dive right into the list...

  • MusicBee

MusicBee is probably the best management software for music. Aside from playing popular music formats, it offers a lot of features like automatic tagging, music management, CD ripping, automatic playlists, music conversions, audiobook and podcast support, and etc.

If it's automatic tagging is messing up your music list, you can use the Manual tagging options to arrange the music as you like. MusicBee also has a powerful equalizer that lets you take full control over the playback with the help of DSP plugins. 

The interface of the program also very customizable, you can hide unnecessary panels very easily and it offers a lot of amazing skins.

This program is also available in a portable format.

  • Foobar2000

Foobar2000 is an amazing freeware that supports MP3, MP4, AAC, CD Audio, WMA, Vorbis, Opus, FLAC, WavPack, WAV, AIFF, Musepack, Speex, AU, and SND formats. And, with the help of additional components, it can also support more audio formats.

The application layout is completely customizable, and you can even change the text in the application. Foobar2000 also has interesting features like gapless playback, advanced tagging, customizable keyboard shortcuts, full ReplayGain support, and audio CD ripping support.

What I found most interesting and useful is that you can start/stop Jajuk at a preset time. Jajuk supports almost all the popular audio formats, and the following tags formats:

And, I really like it's user interface, and actually it is a great music player!

If you install the GOM remote app on your mobile device, you will be able to control GOM audio from your mobile device.

Amarok music player is a lot different than normal music player apps, it shows the name of the track, musician, and the album with big letters in the center of the window, and on the left it displays music sources, and on the right side it shows the playlists.

I really liked the integration of Wikipedia search on this app, this feature is very helpful for finding more information about the song and the artist(s). And, the Lyrics function is seem to work rather well.

  • Audacious

SoundVibe offers a lot of skins and it also allows you to customize the skins (a little bit). The equalizer in this program is great, and the keyboard shortcuts are perfect for controlling the whole program.

  • XMPlay

Mirro Player is a poorly made music player I have ever seen. It can play songs, but it is not a good one to use.
